I almost feel like a special member of the family as I eagerly anticipate all of the newborns coming into the world!  In speaking with their mothers, we have already planned for their first photoshoot weeks in advance of the due date, but of course, babies come when they're ready.  So, I get to be one of the priviledged who get a notification that baby is here...and ready for his close up ;)

I spent this past Sunday afternoon with little Blake, almost two weeks old.  Mommy and Daddy were both glowing and so attentive to his every whimper and noise.  This is one of the things I love about a newborn session...watching Mom and Dad fall in love with their newborn.  You can see it in their expression and giggles that their entire world looks differently to them now that they've become parents.  It's a beautiful thing to witness!

Blake was quite sleepy throughout most of our session.  We changed his clothes, turned him around, moved him from back to belly...and he continued to slumber through all of it!

   

I asked Lauri if she had a special blanket for little Blake and she pulled this out of the drawer and told me that it belonged to Daddy when he was a baby!  Thanks to Grandma for taking such good care of it!

Blake's little hand kept finding it's way to his mouth!
