welcome home

Independence Day will have a special meaning this year.  We all value the great freedoms we have in this country and I'm sure most of us take it for granted most of the time.  But over the past year, I've watched and experienced what it feels like to have someone you love fighting a war and risking his or her own life for the freedoms of others.

My boss's son, Kade, left for Afghanistan just after the July 4th weekend last summer.  I am thrilled to report that Kade is back, safe and sound, on American soil!  His plane touched down in Texas on Wednesday evening after much anticipation where his dad, Brent, and step mom, Jamie, were there to greet him.

To celebrate this Fourth of July, I want to honor Kade along with all of those who are serving or have served in the military... your willingness to sacrifice does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.  I also want to thank God for Kade's safe return.

I asked Kade's sister, Ashley to give me a few pictures of Kade so those who don't know him can put a face with the name.  He is such a cutie!  I have worked for the Gibson family for almost 15 years so I feel like I've watched Kade grow up.  It's still hard for me to think of him as a soldier and not a little mischevious boy...

Kade will continue to serve with the military for the next year or so.  As of right now, he is to stay on at the base in Texas.  I anticipate his return home to Ohio soon....can't wait to see you, Kaders!  In the meantime, I am so glad you're home.  You make me proud.

This family has another soldier in the military as well.  Kade's step brother Adam is currently serving his second tour overseas.  There are many, many military families who are in this position right now.  Please continue to pray for their soldiers in all of our Armed Forces.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY EVERYONE
